Wedding West Palm Beach, Wedding photography advice
Wedding West Palm Beach September 30th, 2008
My first bit of advice for the amateur wedding photographers is to hire a professional wedding photographer .The advantage in hiring is that better photos of the wedding day are taken and more importantly you can watch how the professionals work. The biggest question is how the lightings should be in a wedding and how to shoot accordingly? In weddings, it is realistic lighting and not studio lightings. To know about the light effects of the wedding place, first go to the venue and take sample photos with different settings. Use the best setting when actually shooting the wedding. Make sure all your equipments work and the batteries are fresh. For precaution, take two sets of all the above things.
If you are shooting digital, then the memory cards must be handled with utmost care.
While traveling or flying cross country, my simple advice is don’t take copies of images. They may get damaged while traveling. To prevent this, bring a small shipping box with you and arrange a UPS pick up at the bride or groom’s family. Put the backup hard drive into the box. This way, a copy of images is away from you. Make sure you never format a memory card on the day of wedding.
Whenever shooting film at a wedding, have time to time check at the film counter. You cannot keep changing films and you may lose some important shots. Have a spare film or memory card in your pocket always. At digital weddings, as soon as the card is shot, download the images to a portable hard disk so that even if the card is lost or stolen, images will be intact in the portable hard disk.
